Em algum momento nos anos passados as pessoas começaram a ouvir com certa frequência, Veja? eu não leio, mas o que você esperava dela?

É a mesma novela:

O JN balançou bastante no ‘o povo não é bobo’ de 84, voltou com jornalismo sério, se lambuzou em 89, adorou 94, deu a mão a palmatória em 2002, teve um ataque cardíaco em 2006, agora o que sobra se não por a faca no dente?

Isso é com ele, da minha parte, JN? eu não vejo, mas o que você esperava dele?

PS: Muito mais interessante foi a entrevista que ele fez, por Tuiter, com o Plinio.

Houve algumas fotos que mudaram a percepção sobre a guerra do Vietnam.

A “foto” atual da guerra no Afeganistão foi mostrada ao público no dia 26 de julho pelo Wikileaks. Entretanto, antes de posta ao público, foi analisada, interpretada e corroborada pelos seguintes “intermediadores”:

Na mesma tradição das fotos e repórteres do Vietnam, esses veículos de mídia fizeram seu trabalho de estarem ao lado da divulgação de fatos.

Espero que essas imagens mude a percepção sobre a “guerra ao terror” no Afeganistão, e em todo o mundo.

Quando vamos parar de ver os esportistas como heróis imaculados e infalíveis? Isso só era passável quando tínhamos 5 anos, hoje sei que esses heróis não exitem e ainda bem, nada mais chato do que torcer para semideuses.

Estou tentando lembrar de alguma entrevista que Felipe tenha dito com todas as letras, Não temos 1º e 2º piloto e jamais teremos. Lembro-me de uma entrevista no começo do ano em que disse que naquele momento, começo de campeonato com Fernando chegando, não haveria ordem na equipe. Lembro também que Felipe foi claramente 1º piloto no final do campeonato de 2008, com Kimi se comportando de acordo. Naquela época era mais simples aplicar a ordem nos pit stops, mas só quem tinha 5 anos achava que aquelas trocas de posições não eram ordens sendo aplicadas.

Felipe fez um excelente campeonato em 2008, vem fazendo um campeonato apagado em 2010, recebeu uma ordem de trocar de posição e cumpriu. Parabéns ao Felipe, agiu sabendo que se fosse o inverso, a ordem viria inversa. Não sei se Fernando teria cumprido.

Aos vestais, da próxima vez que o chefe vier encher o saco – ou seja amanhã, segunda-feira – chuta o balde e rompa com tudo. Uma das melhores maneiras de crescer, ainda que dolorida, é aprender a lidar com a perda.

E, Odnei, pare de falar propaganda durante a transmissão da corrida, se quer tanto assim preservar a pureza do esporte.

Massa se enrola, alias, todos na Ferrari se enrolam, mas por mais que a gente gostaria, a Ferrari não vai deixar ele dizer Mandaram deixar passar, eu deixei. Se ele não chutou o balde na pista, não vai ser agora. Alias, se enrola ao dizer que a decisão foi dele e não da equipe, mas é muito claro quando se lembra de 2007 e 2008.

The collective illusion of being a cordial people is not related to any rationalized argument, or excuse, widespread in our society. Many of us may reasonably argue that, in a biological point of view, it is well set that humans are a single race. If a group of individuals is able to produce fertile offspring, then, no doubt, they are from the same race. The long and infamous history of rapes that white men have perpetrated against enslaved black women, in a not so distant past, have established well that we constitute a single race. Indeed, too well. However, if there are no different human races, should we discard racism as invalid, incorrect perception of reality? Should we say that all of us are equally treated since we’re levelled by belonging to the same human race? Again, living in such an unequal society, for all us Brazilians, those are rhetorical questions. It’s quite clear that racism is not a biological issue, it’s a social one. But then, we are driven to another misperception, and a strangely subtle one, which covers our ability to perceive ourselves as racists.

One of the most common arguments we wield against racism in Brazil is that we do not have prejudices against black people, just against the poor in general. In other words, we don’t hate niggers, we hate beggars. For some reason that I can’t grasp, for us it is quite acceptable to show prejudices against someone less fortunate, but not against someone with darker skin. Check again and look closer, you will see that we are stating exactly that. But, lets put this particular – and quite interesting – statement aside for a moment to focus again on racism with colour motives, not that one with so odd conceptions of success.

To show how racism is very alive in our society, even if masked by a general prejudice against the poor, you only have to be a black person driving a car at night in any big city. If you don’t fill the requirements, take a ride with someone who does. I did once, it was only me as passenger and a friend of mine driving his own car. The big revelation occurred when police officers shouted at the driver to pull over at gunpoint. My friend stopped the car, and then, they went directly to his door, “asked” him to step out of the car, to which he promptly complied, and, finally, the rush of the first scenes was followed by a more settled development; the “usual procedure” – as my friend called it – to explain that he is the owner of the car, and, yes, he works as a teacher in a private school and there is no problem officer, I understand, have a good night. All the time, I was left in the passenger seat, barely noticed. In every aspect, except in the colour of skin, we were the same: the same type of job, the same clothes, the same tiredness and hunger after a long workday. No one even bothered to ask my name, or what I did for a living, neither if I had kidnapped him.

You may say that, unfortunate as it was, this little story is personal and do not represent a general feeling towards black people. Indeed, it was a personal experience of a white person in a black world. And, precisely because we need to have an inter-cultural experience in first place, it is so difficult to accept it as a general feeling. We have little to no experiences in the world of the other. Even black people perceive their lives as normal, day-by-day experience, and so, for them, there are no undeniable indications that the standards they have to overbear are not the same white people are submitted to, and vice-versa. How should this be different? Nevertheless, the standards are not the same. We, black and white, expect for and impose on black people much more hardship. If you are a white person, you have to live the experience of being left in a passenger seat, and if you are a black passenger taking a ride with a white driver you have to realize that you were not stopped by any police officer. But even this is not enough: we have to keep asking ourselves what is the reason for such uneven treatment until we realize there is something really wrong.

Suddenly, when you experience – and pay attention to – those side-by-side “moments of revelation” you start to see a world of subtle racism blossom in many everyday situations. It permeates all aspects of our lives, from language to social etiquette. A black person can be “neguinho”, “negão”, but a white person will never accept to be “branquelo”. In any advertisement a normal family will be comprised of four white people – man and wife with two children – and in the one or two ads that dare to present some black people, the woman will be the black, as white as she can be, with no children. Even though some crazy company asks directly for a campaign portraying blacks as black, the campaign will be received by us as an unusual thing, like the memorable United Colors of Benneton advertisements. So lovely that someone dare to show blacks, keep doing those crazy things; as long as it never transforms our normality.

Seeing how racism can influence so profoundly our way-of-life and the way we perceive ourselves can also be an eye-opener to other forms of prejudice we perpetrate against a long list of “others”: women, children, indigenous, workers, peasants, foreigners, even towards beggars. And here we are again back to that little survey Florestan Fernandes supposedly did with his students and whose results no one dare to contest. If among us no one is racist and still all of us know so many racists, where are they?

They are here inside of us, doing their racist acts unattended.

Alias, lembro que eu me convenci a cortar todo o som da TV (e ocultar alguma boa análise do Luciano Burti) quando a Alessandra Alves atropelou o Odinei Edson quando ele resolver soltar um comentário machista. E logo em seguida, o Jan Balder pega a palavra e analisa a corrida a fundo. O Ico solta as observações dele no calor da pista, o Fábio Seixa ajuda com as estatísticas longínquas. Para quem já viu o constrangimento que é a briga por tomar a palavra na transmissão da Globo, sabe do que eu estou falando. Ganharam um ouvinte.

Fora os dias de corrida escutados pela Band News rádio, sigo o Ico pelo site dele com uma excelente análise pós-corrida, que ele chamou de Credencial. Mas o blog dele não é só as corridas. Tem o por trás das pistas, tem o cara que vai a um pais completamente diferente e conta pra gente, tem um olhar que a gente sente que seria o nosso olhar se estivéssemos lá.
